I went on a trip recently!

I don’t know much about watercolors. I would like to take a class for them. Anyone know any good ones in LA? Usually when I do watercolors it’s just with the intent to mess around…scan them in and then like put gaussian blurs in the bg lol

Last week i was on holiday so i draw a bit the people i saw while sitting at various café places….though some Kiki and some cavewomen sneaked in here and there in my sketchbook, thanks to my brilliant *cough* imagination

I have a confession to make: I love sports manga.

I have been watching Slam Dunk on Crunchy Roll, and it is making me want to draw girls playing basketball all the time. Yowapeda has also recently become a favorite. And I feel like I can’t begin a conversation about sports manga without bringing up Adachi Mitsuru, who is basically the king of comics.

What else am I missing? What’s your favorite sports manga/anime?

Watercolored nature backgrounds from the Studio Ghibli film The Tale of Princess Kaguya (かぐや姫の物語), illustrated by Kazuo Oga (男鹿和雄). A good portion of the Princess Kaguya Roman Album EXTRA (Amazon US | JP) is dedicated to the background art and the many artists involved.
